Lens Enhancement Code: AE
This lens enhancement code is systematically applied when a glass spherical lens is ordered.
Lens Enhancement Code: AF
This lens enhancement code applies to all glass lenses with an index of refraction between 1.60 and 1.80 in non-aspheric designs.
1.60 Lens Enhancement Codes: AB, BB, DB, FB, IB, JB, KB, NB, OB 1.66/1.67 Lens Enhancement Codes: AH, BH, DH, FH, II, JH, KH, NH, OH 1.70 and Above Lens Enhancement Codes: AJ, BJ, FJ, JJ, KJ, NJ, OJ
Plastic lenses with an index of refraction equal to or greater than 1.60 fall into the High Index plastic category. These products include progressive, aspheric, and non-aspheric designs. The lens enhancement's price includes front and backside scratch resistant coating and inherent UV protection. Do not charge for factory scratch coating (category A) or UV protection on High Index lenses or provide and charge for aspheric styles when spherical lenses are ordered.
Lens Enhancement Codes: AB, BB, DB, FB, IB, JB, KB, NB, OB
Non-polycarbonate plastic lenses with an index of refraction between 1.53 and up to 1.60 fall into the Mid-Index plastic category. These products include progressive, aspheric, and non-aspheric designs. The lens enhancement's price includes front and backside scratch resistant coating and inherent UV protection. Do not charge for factory scratch coating (category A) or UV protection on Mid-Index lenses.
Lens Enhancement Codes: AD, BD, DD, FD, ID, JD, KD, ND, OD
Polycarbonate lenses with center thicknesses equal to or above 1.5 mm are billed according to these lens enhancement codes. If a center thickness below 1.5 mm is ordered on a minus prescription, charge the "Center Thickness Below 1.5 mm" lens enhancement code (SM) in addition to the polycarbonate lens enhancements code. Polycarbonate lenses include front and backside scratch resistant coating and UV protection. Do not charge for factory scratch coating (category A) or UV protection on polycarbonate lenses.
Lens Enhancement Codes AB, BB, DB, FB, IB, JB, KB, NB, OB Lenses manufactured in Trivex fall into the Mid-Index category. These products include progressive, aspheric and non-aspheric designs. The lens enhancement price includes front and backside scratch resistant coating and inherent UV protection. Do not charge for factory scratch coating (category A) or UV protection on Trivex lenses.
